As inbound traffic increases and in an effort to more effectively monitor activity within the resort Mauna Kea Beach Resort is implementing a new Resort Pre-Arrival Notification Form (you will receive fro ResorticaHawaii.com). Form is due 72 hours prior to arrival.
Opening dates for Mauna Kea Resort: Mauna Kea Beach Hotel 11/1, Westin Hapuna 11/20.
F&B offerings. Hau tree is open now and will continue with 7 day a week operations for lunch and dinner until November 1 when Hau will be open for lunch only 7 days a week. Once the hotel opens (Nov 1) Manta will be open for breakfast 7 days a week with ala carte service only, no buffet (forbidden by County Rule) and dinner 5 days a week (closed Sunday-Monday). Copper will be open for dinner 5 nights a week (closed Tuesday -Wednesday).
Fitness center. We will be moving most of the cardio equipment into the atrium below the lobby and into the Kohala Room to allow for social distancing and safer outdoor exercise. We will also limit the capacity of the fitness center and operate with the doors open. We will be installing air filters/ purifiers in the fitness center, retail shops, golf and tennis pro-shops and select back of house areas in the hotel. See: https://molekule.com/
As of November 1, and consistent with many other establishments, we will implement temperature checks and health question screening for all non-hotel guest patrons in all restaurants, golf pro shop and tennis pro shop.
In accordance with the advice of medical experts, local regulations and industry best practices, all employees and guests (age 6 and above) will be required to wear a mask or face covering when in public spaces on property. Masks are strongly recommended for children age 2-5 years old. Masks are not required while seated in restaurants, at the pools or at the beach, but are required while transiting in, to or through these areas. You should also maintain social distancing guidelines of six feet at all times if possible.
Interisland travel. As of this writing our island is the only island that will NOT receive visitors from other islands without quarantine. Mayor Kim claims that he will have a plan by today. Stay tuned.
