Hula Lessons   What is Hula?  Momi Palmieri, Hula teacher, says "Hula is chant and dance.  It is history; it is the bird that bears the feathers of an ancient culture into today’s world...  Hula is deeply serious and spiritual.  Hula is also raucous, silly and playful.  Hula is the lifeblood and the guardian of Hawaiian language, myth, history and genealogy. Hula is Hawai`i. Hula is life."   We have some wonderful hula teachers here on the Big Island, who will give you a taste of the heart of the Hawaiian culture, and share with you some of the treasures inherent in its teachings. Click here for a calendar of hula lessons, ukelele lessons, ipu clases,  and more at the Queen Shops
Lu'au Legendary Lu'au or Aha'aina (feast) presents a blend of traditional Hawaiian fare.  Hula tells the stories of the people, their lands  and the Gods.  Exotic dances of the Pacific Rim, accompanied by a buffet dinner featuring a variety of fruits, salads, fresh island fish, several tradtional favorites, and a lavish display of Island-style desserts.  Choose from a variety of lu'au offerings, from the more traditional Hawaiian to the excitement and flash of high energy Tahitian dances and Samoan Fire Knife dances.  Check our Lu'au page for details on different locations and prices of lu'au options.
Swimming with Wild Dolphins is about as far off the beaten tourist track as you can get.  Slip into the liquid velvet of our warm ocean waters, and prepare yourself for a life-changing, heart opening experience.  Morning boat tours usually last four hours.  The Hawaiian Spinner dolphin is a year-round resident of our warm coastal waters, and they come in from their nocturnal deep ocean feeding to sleep, play, and make babies along the shoreline, safe from predators.  Dolphins are used to human visitors, and as long as we respect their needs by not chasing them, or trying to touch them, they are happy to share their waters with us.

Price starts at $115 per person, plus tax..

Stand-Up Paddling is an individual water sport that uses a style of paddling similar to that of the outrigger canoe, but you stand upright on a specially designed SUP board and utilize an elongated paddle! SUP has been practiced for centuries in a variety of forms and cultures and in its recent modernized version has become one of the most popular and fastest growing water sports in the world! It is extremely unique in that you can self-propel while standing across any body of water that skill level warrants without the necessity of wind, waves, or engine power.
